About Us

About Us

We work with students and employers to enhance careers education, promote work-related opportunities and enable talent pipelines to business.

Cyfleoedd builds upon our wider college mission statement, enabling our students to ‘be all that they can be’ by preparing and supporting them to achieve, progress and gain meaningful paid career opportunities.

We want to ensure that our students have both the aptitude and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and add value within the workplace.

Partnership opportunities with local and national businesses enable us to expose students to the world of work and ensure they are able to develop and build their personal brand within the open employment market. We are committed to supporting micro, small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

The Team

Steve Jones

As Careers Leader in the College, I manage the careers team and lead on the careers programme. I work with a range of businesses in relation to recruitment, skills gaps and industry needs, as well as ensuring students have access to the best local opportunities to engage with employers.

I have experience of advising education providers with their careers programme and I have supported many students and adults into successful career paths.

Abigail Bassie

My background sits within professional coaching and teaching which stemmed from the completion of my PCET and a strong passion for guiding individuals. As a BA graduate, I have studied and worked within the creative industry my whole life, which has enabled a fresh spin on all things employability!

My aim is to inspire young people to realise their full potential and use their transferable skills, whilst enhancing their opportunities for education and employment.

I want my students to feel supported throughout the whole employability process, by adapting tools and techniques to fit each learning need, whilst nurturing a feeling of optimism when talking ‘next steps’.

Stefanie Cunningham

My qualifications include an M.A. in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Education and I am an I.E.E.P. fellow. I was a business adviser for seven years before joining Bridgend College as the Entrepreneurship Officer.
