Cyfleoedd, meaning ‘opportunities’, is the careers hub at Bridgend College. Cyfleoedd provides an innovative and collaborative workspace to support and enhance employability skills, and enables students and employers to connect.

We work with students and employers to enhance careers education, promote work-related opportunities and enable talent pipelines to business. Cyfleoedd builds upon our wider college mission statement, enabling our students to ‘be all that they can be’ by preparing and supporting them to achieve, progress and gain meaningful paid career opportunities.

Do you advertise job vacancies?

Yes, advertising job vacancies for local and national companies helps our students to see the range of career opportunities available to them.

How can my company connect with your students?

You can engage with a targeted group of students by delivering a Masterclass – a great way to provide an insight to specific career pathways or industry areas.

You could offer a work placement for a student to attend your workplace and observe the world of work in practice.

Is there opportunity to meet with other employers you work with?

We offer a range of business breakfast and networking opportunities at regular intervals throughout the year. Many of our networking events are hosted by distinguished figureheads and entrepreneurs and cover key business themes and trends.

Our business network events provide opportunities for you to connect with other local businesses and prospective clients and establish your own network of support.

Do you support those wanting to start their own business?

Absolutely. Ruth Rowe, Entrepreneurship Officer, is part of our team. She supports students with business-related activities and offers enterprise initiatives alongside their course of study.

Is there opportunity to work with students throughout the year?

You could mentor or coach a student or group of students throughout their course or promote voluntary opportunities within your business.

Do you support apprenticeships?

Yes, a great progression for our students would be to enter an apprenticeship. We offer vocational qualifications which enable our students to gain knowledge and develop practical skills to be ready for the world of work.
